Before you enquire
How this works.
RESORTS.COM.FJ is a marketing platform. Browsing, enquiring and requesting details are always free. These are the questions we're asked most.
How does RESORTS.COM.FJ work?
We're a marketing platform for South Pacific resorts and islands. Owners and their appointed agents advertise listings here; we publish them and forward your enquiry straight to the owner or agent, who deals with you directly. We do not negotiate, hold funds, advise on any sale or lease, or take a commission.
How is the platform paid?
By advertising subscriptions from the parties listing a property (see Advertise). We do not take a commission on any transaction, so browsing, enquiring and requesting details are always free for buyers and renters.
Are the listings verified?
Listings, prices, photos and claims are supplied by the owner or their agent. We check each one against our content guidelines but we do not independently verify title, boundaries, consents or financials. Always carry out your own due diligence with your own lawyer and a licensed local agent.
Can foreign nationals buy freehold land or islands in the South Pacific?
Rules differ by country. In Fiji, roughly 8% of land is freehold (fee simple) and transferable to foreign buyers, with foreign acquisitions generally requiring Ministerial consent under the Land Sales Act and, for tourism ventures, Investment Fiji and Reserve Bank clearances. The Cook Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa and Tonga each have their own leasehold and customary-land frameworks. Treat this as general information only and confirm the current position with a qualified local adviser.
How do foreshore, reef and customary fishing rights work?
Across the region, land above the high-water mark can typically be privately held, while the foreshore and seabed remain with the State and customary rights holders. Jetties, moorings and seaplane docks usually need a separate foreshore lease or permit. The owner's listing pack should set out what is already in place.
How do I get the full details on a listing?
Use the enquiry form on the listing. It goes directly to the owner or agent, who can share the information pack (title particulars, surveys, consents and, for operating resorts, trading figures) on their own terms.
